Pottery

Sue Fazio’s pottery is driven by challenge, curiosity, and joyful persistence. Drawn to the wheel not because it came easily, but because it did not, she embraces pottery as a practice that demands patience, presence, and focus. Each piece is hand-thrown, shaped through trial and discovery, and finished with hours of hand-painting.

Bright color, expressive lines, and textured surfaces carry over from Sue’s painting practice into clay, allowing her to turn form into feeling. The process is deliberate and often unpredictable, but it is within that uncertainty that her work comes alive. For Sue, pottery is both discipline and delight — a way of transforming chaos into order, one kiln firing and one small miracle at a time.
